Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Practical Nurse
Family Care Clinic, Full Time
Salary Range: $21.84 - $29.34
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the overall management of Family Care Clinic direct patient care services staff including quality of care, patient safety, utilization of personnel, compliance, with clinic policies, and policy development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide supervisory level direction to Family Care Clinic Medical Assistant staff. Perform employee evaluations in accordance with human resources policy. Coach and counsel employees as needed to promote optimal performance. Recommend and administer corrective action as appropriate, in collaboration with the Director of Primary Care and Human Resources Manager. Maintain schedules and coverage of department as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic. Review time records for accuracy and submit for payroll department for timely completion of payroll.
Train and orient new clinical employees and sign off on demonstrated competencies per department protocols. Competencies to include but not limited to:
  • Organization, preparation and completion of patient paperwork (i.e. lab reports, orders, etc.).
  • Monitor and record vital signs. Update patient records (i.e. history and meds). Assure immunization records for patients comply with recommended schedules and report per State of Oregon guidelines.
  • Immunizations and other injectable medications within scope of practice.
  • Exam room preparation and cleanliness.
  • Assist providers during exams or special procedures.
  • Sterilize equipment and instruments. Set up of sterile trays, and disposal of contaminated items.
  • Submission of electronic charges for all nursing services.
  • Respond to patient inquiries or communicate with patients via portal, phone, or in person. Communicate with agencies, pharmacies, etc. for continuity of patient care.
Review and participate in policy development and adherence.
Oversee INR Nurse, Quality Coordinator, and MA Leads.
Oversee safety compliance, all clinic protocols, clinical policies, inventory and supply ordering,
Organizing and managing monthly meeting and daily huddles.
Perform the duties of a Medical Assistant or LPN, as needed, to assure patient and provider needs are met.
Under the direction and supervision of the medical provider and per competency or licensure qualifications, provide direct patient care such as, but not limited to, injections (immunizations, allergy, etc.) internal labs, catheter changes, ear irrigations, suture removal, dressing changes, IV’s and basic wound care. Maintain cooperative working relationship with clinic staff, patients, other organizations, and the public to provide quality customer service in a courteous manner.
Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and secure manner.
Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: 1 year clinical supervisory or management experience, or 5 years in the medical field. Knowledge of medical office procedures and methods, including general knowledge of medications and drug classifications. General knowledge of English, grammar, spelling, data entry and retrieval, and computer applications software. General knowledge of mathematics, medical terminology and health. General knowledge of confidentiality concepts and requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with the healthcare professionals, public, customers, and staff.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: License Practical Nurse (LPN)
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Experience with Rural Health Clinics (RHC), Patient Center Primary Care Home (PCPCH), Meaningful Use, and Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization (EOCCO).
