Foundation Manager
Part Time
Salary Range: $26.01 - $34.95
PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position provides leadership for Foundation activities that align with the vision and mission of Harney County Health District. Establishes annual and multi-year fundraising goals for capital campaigns, annual giving, special events, and building a robust endowment program. Works closely with the Foundation’s board of directors to build relationships, raise funds, and develop strategic positioning. Cultivates relationships and establishes long-term ties to the community and ensures effective stewardship of donations. Represents the foundation and the health district in the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
In partnership with the CEO, admin team, and the foundation board, develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to include individual, corporate, and foundation giving that is driven by health district priorities.
Develop and build strong relationships with foundation board members, health district management, and other volunteers as fundraisers.
Oversee Foundation Board meetings, including setting the annual schedule, preparing agendas, materials, packets and minutes.
Prepare all Foundation correspondence and reports including monthly financial reports and annual audit documents.
Facilitate regular meetings with members of Harney County Health District leadership to identify needs for philanthropic dollars.
Maintain a stewardship program aimed at cultivating - relationships with major donors and prospects.
Manage the Foundation’s assets under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.
Personally cultivate and solicit a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects.
Ensure good record keeping including maintaining accurate record of contacts, next steps, and communications with donors and prospects.
Ensure the effective selection, recruitment, training, development, engagement, and recognition of volunteers for the Foundation board, campaigns, and other Programs in support of the ongoing philanthropic goals for Harney District Hospital.
Serve as the operational leader for the foundation, managing the day-to-day operations. Directly oversee fundraising programs of capital campaigns, major gifts, annual fund, and planned giving. Support foundation special events and ensure appropriate recognition and stewardship of those donors.
Develop strategy for capital campaigns, including case statement, budgets, leadership recruitment, and staffing.
Research public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, business management or related field.
Required Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with fundraising or sales, experience with project management or event coordination, exceptional interpersonal skills, strong writing and speaking skills and strong computer skills.
Preferred Experience: Three or more years of professional fundraising experience and a successful track record in cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Exceptional experience in maintaining a donor-centered approach to fundraising within the parameters of organizational priorities. Exceptional interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build relationships internally and externally. Exceptionally strong communication skills, including the ability to listen well. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, sensitivity, and confidentiality in relation to donor/prospect relations, departmental planning, and project management.
