  • Job Description

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Supervise staff, resources, quality management/control activities and reporting for the Imaging Services Department.  Perform various duties of the Imaging staff. Develop and maintain department policies, procedures, and budgets in conjunction with supervisor, adhering to state laws and regulations.

    Supervise, schedule, and assign personnel to provide department services for the hospital.  Interview and select applicants for vacant positions to maintain a high standard of care. Develop staffing plans to provide adequate department coverage and review on a regular basis. Review work, evaluate performance, respond to employee problems and complaints, and recommend various personnel actions as appropriate. Ensure provision of adequate staff training.  Accurately complete information related to employees in a timely manner, e.g. performance appraisals, new employee orientation check lists, corrective actions, time records, etc. 

    Perform various duties of a Radiologic Technologist including on-call coverage.

    Develops quality CQI program, engaging staff, reviewing and updating annually and reporting monthly at Department Head Meetings. 

    Conduct monthly staff meetings and coordinate department activities with other hospital departments

    Attends and participates in hospital meetings as directed by supervisor.

    Coach and counsel employees as needed.  Recommend and administer corrective action as appropriate, in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources. 

    Procure supplies, equipment and materials, and maintain adequate inventory to meet department needs.  Evaluate equipment requirements and maintain operational efficiency of equipment.

    Model and assure excellent customer service standards for assigned areas. 

    Maintain records and generate reports for department.  Assure appropriate department policies and procedures are developed, implemented, updated annually and followed.

    Ensures quality by planning, implementing, assessing and improving in areas that need improvement.

    Prepare recommendations for annual budget.  Review budget for variances, and report as needed. Develop department policies and procedures in conjunction with supervisors.

    Maintain cooperative working relationship with hospital staff, patients, other organizations, and the public to provide quality customer service in a courteous manner.

    Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and secure manner.

    Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.

  • Requirements

    MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge of radiology principles, practices and techniques.  Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to pinpoint area for procedure and identify findings, perform basic clinical procedures and patient care as trained while observing universal precautions at all times. Knowledge of recordkeeping practices and computer applications software.  Knowledge of policy development and supervisory practices. Completion of a Radiology training program and over three (3) years experience, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Possession of current ARRT and State of Oregon licensure in Radiologic Technology. 

    DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Possession of ARRT certificates in CT, MRI, Mammography and ARDMS certificate in Ultrasound.

    Responsible for over two (2) and seldom over six (6) FTE.
