Job Description

Harney District Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their already thriving Physical Therapy Department.  The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services. This person will provide direct patient care to assess patient's medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.  Candidate will be able to set realistic goals for their patients and have the ability to exercise professional judgment in working with patient's and their families.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices and techniques.  Knowledge of computer applications software and general office procedures.  Knowledge of universal precautions.  Completion of accredited professional occupational therapy education program. 

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Must have graduated from an accredited school. Current state license as an Occupational Therapist or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Possession of current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Certification (CPR), or able to attain within 6 months of hire. Valid drivers’ license/comprehensive auto insurance for home visits. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Previous occupational therapy experience in either clinical or hospital setting. Experience in working with hand therapy.
