Outreach Coordinator II
Casual, less than 20 hours per week
Salary Range: $18.04-$24.27
PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position develops, implements and manages community health outreach programs to promote prevention and/or management of chronic conditions, provide resources and increased quality of life to residents of Harney County.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with health care professionals, community partners and school district to provide education and support through a variety of direct and indirect methods.
Provide support for HDH’s Outreach and Education events and programs.
Assist Marketing and Public Relations Specialist in producing and managing the Community Health Needs Assessment and accompanying implementation plan and progress reports. Head and organize Community Health Action Team (CHAT), develop agenda, facilitate discussion and direction of committee.
Coordinate and manage events related to established programs such as 5-1-1-0, LIFE Committee, Reach Out & Read and Walk With Ease.
Develop informational materials, presentations and displays to promote events, programs and awareness campaigns.
Maintain relevant social media pages (LIFE Committee), group email and mailing lists as necessary.
Write grants and letters of request for funding.
Develop, track and keep data on budgets, grants and fundraising events.
Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Strong communication skills and professional public contact.
Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Suite and general internet use.
Strong organizational and event planning skills.
Ability to work well in groups across a variety of situations.
Ability to work independently and generate projects alone.
Access to reliable transportation.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Equivalent to a high school education, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES:
CPR/First Aide Certification upon hire.
Walk With Ease Leader Training upon hire.
Valid Driver’s License.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
College degree or work experience in Public Health, Community Health Education or Health Promotion.
Some background in psychology or social systems, i.e.: education, counseling, public health or related field.
Marketing, public relations and/or customer service experience preferred.
Certified Community Health Worker or other related certification.
